How to Clear Icon Cache on Mac
macOS keeps icons for documents and apps in an icon cache so that it can quickly display them when required without having to load them from scratch every single time. It saves not just your time but also plays a vital role in boosting your productivity on Mac. For the most part, this smart play works as expected and shows relevant icons in the Finder or Dock. However, at times, you might see generic or irrelevant icons in these places. In that case, you will need to clear the icon cache on Mac to fix the issue. That’s pretty much done! Hopefully, you have reset the icon cache on your macOS device without any hassle. While for some users these commands alone are able to clear the icon cache, I had to perform the extra step of restarting the Mac to reset the cache. So, make sure to reboot your device if the commands fail to do the job. Anyway, let me know your feedback and whether or not these Terminal commands have worked for you.
